A class of two halves
So, what’s Strength and Conditioning all about? As the title suggests, there are two elements to this 45 minute long session!
One half works on getting you stronger at a particular weighted movement such as a variation of a Squat, Deadlift, Bench Press and an Overhead Press.
The second half is a faster paced circuit variation based on the strength move of that session.
Depending on class sizes, the group is split in two, with one half doing the strength movement and the other doing the conditioning piece until it is time to swap over. The class is kept small so our instructors can really focus on your form, helping you to improve week in, week out.
Grow your confidence in the gym with our Strength and Conditioning class.
This is a really supportive session, with encouragement from your fellow gym-goers and your instructor to help you achieve your best.
What we (and our members) love about this class is that no two weeks are the same. Whether it’s a change to the number of reps you are tasked with, or the movements themselves, there is a huge amount of variety. It is a great place to learn and grow confidence in the gym. You will certainly not get bored in these classes. It is suitable for all abilities as the movements are coached, so you can develop your skills, from complete beginner to weight lifting legend.

The benefits of Strength and Conditioning
You get two for one in this 45 minute workout. A spotlight on weight lifting techniques, growing stronger and stronger each week, combined with cardio based fitness to get your heart pumping.
Physical benefits:
- Improved cardiovascular health: Strength and conditioning can help improve your heart health by increasing your heart rate throughout the conditioning piece of the class.
- Increased muscle mass: the strength training element will help you build muscle, and get stronger week in, week out.
- Reduced risk of injury: Getting stronger and more co-ordinated in the gym, will help you outside of the gym with day to day tasks. Each session is coached by a qualified instructor, so on the gym floor you will be refining your technique, enabling you to lift heavier (if that is your goal).
- Improved bone health: Strength and conditioning can help build stronger bones, joints, and connective tissues through a range of movements.

Mental health benefits
We may be biased, but we have happy members! Our regulars at Strength and Conditioning are so supportive of one another and love seeing new and familiar faces do well in class. Hitting PBs and getting stronger is something we all want for you.
How Strength and Conditioning can support your mental health:
- Sense of achievement: There is nothing more rewarding than feeling like you have accomplished great things when you’re at the gym. This is a great class for that. Pushing yourself to reach your goals and achieving them over time has powerful knock on affects outside of the gym.
- Stress relief: If you’ve had a tough day, week, month, don’t underestimate how much picking up and putting down heavy things can quickly allow you to forget about the things that were bothering you.
- Improved mood: This is a fun, challenging and rewarding class. You will definitely feel better walking out than you did walking in. We can promise you that.
